President's Weekly Address: Traveling Abroad for Our Economy at Home

This week the President comes to us from South Korea. He is on his first trip to Asia as President.

From the White House web site:

In an address recorded in Seoul, South Korea, the President discusses his trip to Asia. He talks about his push to stop nuclear proliferation in North Korea, Iran, and around the world. He talks about promoting America's principles for an open society in China while making progress on joint efforts to combat climate change. And talks in-depth about the primary objective of his trip: engaging in new markets that hold tremendous potential to spur job creation here at home.

We do have to be patient. I know there are some who will never give this president and the economy a break for any thing, but we have to allow him time to work and time for the recovery to work as it was planned.

I am sorry this is late again this week. I have just been overwhelmed with troubles. First, is my mom, you all know about her... then my 84 year old uncle who I help take care of fell last Saturday morning and I have been at the hospital with him ever day.. He has broken his left hip and we finally managed to get it fixed Wed. They did a partial replacement.

Then a very dear cousin of mine was in a serious car accident. They have done as much repair as they can do to her left foot and legs.. it is touch and go on her left foot as to whether she will be able to keep it.

Then my daughter's father is very ill and they are giving him a 50/50 chance of making it.

So as you see I have had a terrible week. Today hasn't been much better but at least I finally got some rest today.

My uncle will be getting out of the hospital probably Monday or Tuesday, and going to a Skilled Nursing Facility for rehab and PT... Hopefully that will help as it will be much closer to home and I will be able to pop in and out multiple times a day.

Thanks for understanding and for being such loyal readers.

Bless you all.. I hope you enjoy this weeks Address... I did.

And blessings to you and your dear ones Annette! Hope everyone gets thru these bad times, I'm so sorry!

Thanks for the video of our President. I have a little story for ya, its insane what people will say! A Valero refinery has shut down in Delaware this week, the second one for our area. A family member worked there and he and others are saying Obama bought the refinery for millions and millions of dollars so he could close it down and destroy America!!! Can you believe these morons?? I don't know how our Thanksgiving dinner will go now, LOL!

Well other than my daughter, all my family are dems.. so we don't have a problem...lol We just don't usually discuss anything concerning the President.. and if we do..I usually manage to bring up Bush and the Iraq war.. that shuts her up very quickly. Then I start talking torture and she gets mad and slams out the door...lol So we don't talk bad about President Obama...lol

Thanks for your well wishes.. it has been an overwhelming week for sure. Just one right after the other it seems.

I think it's been the week from Hell for everyone! So glad you've made it through and gotten yourself some rest, Annette. We have been battling the various flu bugs for weeks around here - Little Man was down with 103 fever and vomiting, Tweenie sick, too, and I was the one down the week before- how The Hubby escapes it all, I will never know.

You and yours have had more than your share, and it makes our flu troubles pale in comparison. Be sure you take care of yourself - we caregivers are always the last ones we take care of, and we have to remember that if we are worn down, we can't take care of anyone! (Okay, okay, so I should be listening to my own advice...!) Anyhow, take good care - I'll get you all right onto my St. Jude list (still hoping he listens to this lapsed Catholic!)

Time - no one allows enough time for anything to work. You've been very good about talking me down when I get onto that impatient rant of mine. It does the right good to stir up the impatience of the populace. God knows they're dying to do that right now, with health care plugging along. If we pull that off, it will be the change that our generation is known for, and the GOP knows it! So I am sure they will continue to attack on the "dithering" front and criticize the thoughtful processes of our President, including that of giving the economy time.

Thanksgiving...usually peaceful. The in-laws have learned not to go there, as I will defend my politics strongly. Like you all, we don't discuss that anymore! Have a restful and healthy Thanksgiving - great speech from The Prez today - thanks for that!
