Mormon Prophecy Behind Glenn Beck's Message

This comes from an article by Dana Milbank of the Washington Post, however he posted this piece at Huffington.

But before I post it, I want to share with you what I learned years ago. At the church I attended we did a study of cults and other religions. One of the ones we talked about in depth was the Mormons.

We did this because there is a strong presence and history of the Mormons here. Mostly we have the RLDS now, and the Restoration Branch of the LDS, however we (the state) did play a huge role in sending them off to Utah.

One of the things we talked about was the huge presence of Mormon's in businesses and in government and how it is growing. People do not realize how huge the "Corporation of Mormonism" is. They own most of at least 4 states, between government representatives and just land and business.

So, when I read this piece by Milbank it brought back what I had learned and what scares the Evangelical Christians when it comes to Mormonism. There is a belief they will take over the entire process of the Federal Government in time. This ties into what Milbank wrote.

From the Huffington Post, please go read the entire piece it is worth your time:

I
n one of his first appearances on Fox News, Glenn Beck sent a coded message to the nation's six million Mormons -- or at least those Mormons who believe in what the Latter-day Saints call "the White Horse Prophecy."

"We are at the place where the Constitution hangs in the balance," Beck told Bill O'Reilly on November 14, 2008, just after President Obama's election. "I feel the Constitution is hanging in the balance right now, hanging by a thread unless the good Americans wake up."

Some of the emphasis is mine... but I wanted to make sure you saw this line:

The Constitution is hanging by a thread.

According to Milbank, this is the Call to Arms, so to speak. He goes on to say:

The phrase is often attributed to the Prophet Joseph Smith, founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or Mormon Church. Smith is believed to have said in 1840 that when the Constitution hangs by a thread, elders of the Mormon Church will step in -- on the proverbial white horse -- to save the country.

"When the Constitution of the United States hangs, as it were, upon a single thread, they will have to call for the 'Mormon' Elders to save it from utter destruction; and they will step forth and do it," Brigham Young, Smith's successor as head of the church, wrote in 1855.

He goes on to show how other members of the Mormon Church have backed Beck up when talking.

Was it just a coincidence in wording, or was Beck, a 1999 Mormon convert, speaking in coded language about the need to fulfill the Mormon prophecy? A conversation on Beck's radio show ten days earlier would seem to rule out coincidence. Beck was interviewing Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah, also a Mormon, when he said: "I heard Barack Obama talk about the Constitution and I thought, we are at the point or we are very near the point where our Constitution is hanging by a thread."

"Well, let me tell you something," Hatch responded. "I believe the Constitution is hanging by a thread."

Days after Beck's Fox show started in January 2009, he had Hatch on, and again prompted him: "I believe our Constitution hangs by a thread."

I thought this part was very interesting, however since I don't listen to Beck I had never thought much of it.

In addition to the coded allusions to the White Horse Prophecy, he often brings Mormon theology into his broadcasts (he touts the thinking of late church president Ezra Taft Benson and he frequently promotes the work Mormon conspiracy theorist Cleon Skousen) but without identifying them with the LDS church.

Then he uses history to teach us more...

Before the Mormons went west, Smith traveled to Washington seeking help for his oppressed followers and received nothing but frustration. Rather than turning on the government, however, "They considered themselves the last Real Americans, the legitimate heirs of the pilgrims and Founding Fathers," Pat Bagley wrote in the Salt Lake Tribune. "And, they believed, the very survival of the Constitution depended on the Saints. From Smith on, LDS leaders prophesied the Constitution would one day hang by a thread, only to be saved by Mormons."

A compilation of church leaders' statements over the years by the journal BYU Studies shows this strain of thinking. Though there are doubts about whether Smith actually wrote the phrase "hang by a thread," his successors left no doubt about the theology behind it. Orson Hyde, a Smith contemporary, wrote that Smith believed that "the time would come when the Constitution and the country would be in danger of an overthrow; and said [Smith]: 'If the Constitution be saved at all, it will be by the elders of this Church.'"

As you can see, this should be worrying. It is one thing for the Christian right to try to take over, at least they are out in the open about it... But the Mormons are trying to do it while not bringing public attention to what they plan.

Milbank finishes this piece by saying this:

But there is a Beckian twist in his version of the prophecy. Unlike the church leaders' versions, Beck's vision carries the possibility of a bloody end. On the night of Feb. 24, 2009, Beck outlined this prospect for his viewers. People who "don't trust the government," he said, would "see the government as violating the Constitution, and they will see themselves as defenders of the Constitution. Not a good mix. Then they take matters into their own hands."

It was Glenn Beck in a nutshell: White Horse Prophecy meets horsemen of the apocalypse.

I firmly believe the words of Beck carry with them a danger and a chilling reach to violence. Note the other TeaBaggers who have also called for violence. Angle, asking for 2nd amendment remedies, taking out Harry Reid... all those are attributed to her. Then there is the candidate who says he confused his names the other day, calling for the assassination of Obama, not once but several times, then later saying he meant Osama... Yeah right.

We know the likes of SP, she who will not be named on this blog, who is also advocating violence and wishes for End Times to happen soon. Matter of fact, all the so called Religious Right have done the same. They all want the world to end so they can be lifted up to Heaven with their Jesus.

I must say, their Jesus and my Jesus are two very different people.

So what do you think.. Does Dana Milbank have a point. He has just published a book about Beck, called
Tears of a Clown: Glenn Beck and the Tea Bagging of America, a fitting title don't you think? I am going to have to get this book. Then I will let you know what I think.

Let me know how you feel about this, and again, just another thing to worry about from the Right WingNuts of America.

Color of Change Petition for Net Neutrality

Here is another petition for Net Neutrality. Leslie @ ParsleysPics has one also. Please sign one or both of these so we can continue what we have had for years.

The major companies are trying to control our internet more than before... Join in and keep it free and open for all. Don't let them and Glenn Beck take away our internet capabilities.

Dear friends,

The Internet has made amazing things possible, like freeing the Jena 6 and electing President Obama. None of it could have happened without an "open" Internet: one where Internet service providers are not allowed to interfere with what is seen and by whom.

Now, Comcast, AT&T, and Verizon -- the most powerful broadband providers -- are trying to fundamentally change the way the Internet works. They're seeking to make even bigger profits by acting as gatekeepers over what we see and do online. If they succeed, the Internet would be more like radio and television: a few major corporations would control which voices are heard most easily, and it would be much harder for grassroots groups, individuals, and small businesses to compete with large corporations and well-funded special interests.

The FCC wants to do the right thing and keep the Internet open, but the big providers have been attacking their efforts, with help from Black leaders who have financial ties to the industry. And a recent court ruling just made the FCC's job even tougher.[1] If the FCC is to preserve an open Internet, they will have to boldly assert their authority and press even harder. It's why they need to hear directly from everyday people about the importance of an open Internet, now.

Will you join me in sending a message to the Federal Communications Commission supporting their effort to preserve an open Internet? It takes only a moment:

http://www.colorofchange.org/opennet/?id=2425-697932

The FCC is working to create rules that would protect "net neutrality," the principle that protects an open and free Internet and which has guided the Internet's operation since it began. It guarantees that information you put online is treated the same as anyone else's information in terms of its basic ability to travel across the Internet. Your own personal website or blog can compete on equal footing with the biggest companies. It's the reason the Internet is so diverse -- and so powerful. Anyone with a good idea can find their audience online, whether or not there's money to promote the idea or money to be made from it.

AT&T, Comcast, and Verizon are spending millions of dollars lobbying to create a new system where they can charge large fees to speed up some data while leaving those who can't afford to pay in the slow lane.[2] Such a system could end the Internet as we know it -- giving wealthier voices on the Internet a much bigger megaphone than poorer voices, and stunting the Internet's amazing equalizing potential.

Buying the support of Black organizations?

President Obama strongly supports net neutrality, and so do most members of the FCC. With so much at stake for Black communities, you would expect Black leaders and civic organizations to line up in support of an open Internet.

But instead, a group of Black civic organizations is challenging the adoption of net neutrality rules. Some of the groups are nothing more than front groups for the phone and cable companies. Others, however, are major civil rights groups -- and all of them have significant financial ties to the nation's biggest Internet service providers. For example, AT&T donated half a million dollars last year to the NAACP, and led a drive to raise $5 million more[3], and boasts of donating nearly $3 million over the last ten years to a number of Black-led organizations.[4] Verizon, meanwhile, recently gave The National Urban League and the National Council of La Raza a $2.2 million grant.[5] Comcast is one of the National Urban League's "national partners" (Comcast Executive Vice President David Cohen now sits on the NUL's Board of Trustees)[6], and the NUL's 2008 annual report notes that Comcast donated over $1 million that year.[7] Many of these groups have now filed letters with the FCC opposing or cautioning against net neutrality,[8,9,10,11] and the Internet service providers are using the groups' support to promote their agenda in Washington.[12,13]

The main argument put forth by these groups is that net neutrality rules would widen the digital divide. They say that unless we allow Internet service providers to make bigger profits by acting as gatekeepers online, they won't expand Internet access in under-served communities. It's a bogus, trickle-down argument that has been thoroughly debunked.[14, 15] Expanding access to high speed Internet is an extremely important goal. But Internet service providers are already making huge profits,[16, 17] and if they believed that investing in low-income communities made good business sense, they would already be doing it. Allowing them to make more money by acting as toll-takers on the Internet won't change that. When these civil rights groups have been asked to back up their arguments, none have been able to do so without appealing to discredited, industry-funded studies.[18] Nevertheless, the FCC has taken notice of what these civil rights groups are saying about net neutrality, and is wary of going against them for fear of being perceived as insensitive to minority concerns.[19]

Now it's up to you

The FCC wants to do the right thing and implement net neutrality rules. FCC commissioners know, as we do, that the anti-net neutrality arguments coming from civil rights groups are bogus. But they don't want to appear to be on the wrong side of Black interests.[20]

We need to demonstrate that there's support among Black folks and everyone else for protecting an open Internet. Please join me in telling the FCC that we support net neutrality.

One of the Best Blogs Ever!

I have read Margaret and Helen religiously since I found them about 2 years ago. These 2 ladies cut through the mud and just lay it on the line.

They are both in their 80's and they cut no slack to anyone. Mostly Helen writes and Margaret adds a little here and there. Margaret is married to a Republican and Helen feels her pain. However they are both very open in their disgust with the way things are going in the way of politics. Also, they have a deep seated loathing of all things Palin, Limbballs and Beck. Here is their latest contribution. Oh, and if you aren't reading them, Well why not?

Margaret, I really do like this President. He is young and smart… and I think he is trying his best under bad circumstances to do the right thing and create change for good. Not easy these days… Sort of like your convincing Howard that seeing a doctor annually at his age is still preventative medicine. You’ve both got a tough sales job ahead of you.

I really do appreciate his trying to reach across the aisle - as they say – and get Republicans to work towards bipartisanship. But honey, that dog just don’t hunt. Trying to reach bipartisanship with this particular Republican Party will probably achieve bipolarism instead of bipartisanship.

Harsh? Well yes maybe I am being a bit harsh. Part of the problem? Well maybe that too. After all bipartisanship requires a little give and take from both sides. So who am I to suggest that the problem is mainly with the Republicans?

See what I mean... she cuts no slack for anyone....lol

But there is more:

To all my Republican readers out there – I have had quite enough of your nonsense.

Your party gave us Sarah Palin and George W. Bush – dumb and dumber. He’s the guy whose mission still isn’t accomplished and she’s the gal who couldn’t handle being governor of one of our least populous states. Even the “professional” wrestler was able to finish the job in Minnesota.

Your party had an issue with President Obama telling school children to stay in school and study hard. I guess a black man can’t be trusted with your children regardless of his credentials. And your party decided the tradition of separating church and state had an expiration date. You love the constitution but you seem to pick through that document the same way you pick through the Bible – with all the effectiveness of eating corn on the cob through a picket fence.

We are actively involved in two wars, but you just can’t understand why the deficit is so big? Regardless of what you have been told, every time a bomb is dropped, an angel does not get her wings. Hint: Defense spending represents almost one quarter of all federal spending.

Today’s Republican Party has an issue with abortion, but then fights against healthcare reform knowing full well that more than 9 million children lack health insurance. A stretch argument to be sure, but then again 18 19 Children and Counting is a big hit.

My party at least recognizes the need for increased access to birth control. Your party is pro-life right up until they cut the cord and then you turn your attention to electing judges who promote shortening the waiting time on death row.

And for Pete’s sake your party has an issue with gay people, but you gladly send your straight children to war while telling gays they cannot serve. This one, more than any other, has me scratching my head. Aren’ t you just delaying their eventual trip to Hell?

You actually have Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck as your spokesmen. Rush Limbaugh? Are you serious? Even the NFL didn’t want Limbaugh. And Beck… Glenn Beck? When people use the expression ”nuttier than a fruitcake” Glenn Beck is the main ingredient.

The Republican Party of yesteryear was respectable. You were all about a small government that carried a big stick. Now you are just despicable. You used to be the Party of Lincoln and now – honest to God – you make Archie Bunker look progressive.

If it wasn’t for Fox News you would be irrelevent. That’s right. You have become a party that owes its entire existence to a cable news channel owned by an Aussie. Your mascot should be a kangaroo instead of an elephant. After all, the last guy you sent to the White House arrived there thanks to a kangaroo court ruling rather than an election. He then spent the next 8 years bringing our nation to its knees. How about sitting down and shutting your damn pie holes long enough to see if the guy in office now can actually clean up your mess. Honestly, you are embarrassing yourself.

Look. My party has problems too. It’s biggest problem might be in attempting to please everyone, the Democratic Party seems to please no one. But diversity of opinions is something I am willing to work through. Bigotry and ignorance is not. I mean it. Really.

And that's all for Helen... But as I said.. she doesn't pull punches. She says what she feels and lays it on the line.

Now, here is Margaret's response:

Helen, dear, one of the many things I love about you is your ability to see the positive in just about every situation. Now it might take you a while to get there and it might involve scalping a Republican or two along the way, but eventually you do and life is a much better place for it. Now, could you please just explain to me why my Howard thinks now is the perfect time to get a good deal on a new Toyota? Honestly, Helen, that man will be the death of me yet

According to the bio portion, Margaret isn't the writer of the two. She calls Helen and then Helen writes it up.

Like I said, if you aren't reading this blog everytime a new post is out... Why not?

Add them to your reading list.. you will be better for it.

10 Lessons for Tea Baggers, Hey Wing Nuts.. That Means YOU!

I posted this back on September 16, 2009, right after Glenn Beck's 9-12 project.. Sue @ Hellooooo Mr President has been having some discussions with some conservatives about some of these ideas and I thought maybe it was time to revive it. Hopefully they will read it and learn a little something.. and some of us might learn some things too.

Jon Perr who posts at Crooks and Liars and also at his own blog Perrspectives has this great piece up that gives a wonderful write up of all the things wrong with your protest. You really need to look at this and study it and learn something.

Now you have all been here and wanted a debate.. Here is your debate. Will you honestly, truthfully read this and debate with me and others about this? I really doubt you will. But I will be glad to do so.

You attack, you scream, you cry we just want to call you names, but when we try to really have a debate you are nowhere around.. so here is your chance.. Like I said no anonymous comments.. You have to have a name.. something anyway.. Now, read this..

Back in April, the Daily Show's Jon Stewart offered some sound advice for frothing at the mouth Tea Baggers, "I think you might be confusing tyranny with losing." Now five months after their Tax Day outburst, thousands of vein-popping Obama opponents descended Saturday on Washington for Tea Party II. But while Glenn Beck's furious followers alternately slandered the President as a "fascist," a "communist" and worse, they remained unencumbered by either the thought process - or the truth.

Now for the list of 10 things you need to remember and learn.. These are very important.

1. President Obama Cut Your Taxes
2. The Stimulus is Working
3. First Ronald Reagan Tripled the National Debt...
4. ...Then George W. Bush Doubled It Again
5. Republican States Have the Worst Health Care
6. Medicare is a Government Program
7. Barack Obama is Not a Muslim
8. Barack Obama was Born in the United States
9. 70,000 Does Not Equal 2,000,000
10. The Economy Almost Always Does Better Under Democrats

Each of those links will take you to a detailed explanation of the statement. In easy to read terms and back up to show you proof of the statments.. Also I want to help you with some other things besides what Jon has given there.

From one of my commenters here who was answering one of you who left an answer and then ran away with no other way of contacting you or debating you in anyway, I am going to quote MrBrink:

In 2007, Pearl Jam was censored by AT&T during their live webcast for saying: "...George Bush, leave this world alone" and "George Bush find yourself another home..."

Anti Bush speech was censored by the corporate media or people like the Dixie Chicks were threatened with death as an example of what happens when you criticize Republican presidents.

In respone to anonymous coward's comments:

The Bush family dynasty was built to a fair extent doing business with Nazi Germany and had to have their assests seized as a result.

President Obama has no such family history. There is no elitist "Obama family dynasty."

The Bush dynasty expounded upon Prescott's activities by G.H.W Bush's years as a CIA spook and his subsequent ties to the Carlyle Group engaging in international arms deals using his position as an American government official to enrich his private dealings blurring the line between public and private representation. In other words, when 41' was brokering deals for Carlyle, he was using what I like to call "America's integrity capital" as a bargaining chip in business negotitations.

Hitler rose to power through an odd parliamentary procedure after losing the popular vote handily.

Bush was appointed president through an unprecedented decision by the Supreme Court, after Bush lost the popular vote handily. Scalia and Cheney are, and have been, good friends and hunting buddies in an obvious conflict of interest to everyone but wingnuts.

Clinton left a surplus. To argue this is typical revisionist history. Clinton also upheld the successful policy of containment and no fly zones in the 90s. Information recently revealed that Saddam was bluffing and tried to communicate as much through intermediaries to offset the threat of increasing Iranian influence. A threat that Reagan and Bush41' compounded with a shady proxy war in the 80's.

I disagreed with sanctions responsible for the deaths of over 200,000 women and children and oil for food, but to claim Clinton's approach was more harmful than Bush's pre-emptive Shock and Awe campaign is idiocy.

We actually count the efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan in the budget now. Bushco tried to hide the costs through emergency funding that was used for no-bid contracts and plastic wrapped billions unloaded off a flying warehouse on a Baghdad tarmac. Waste, fraud, abuse, and no accountability were Bushco norms.

Only republicans hypocritically complain about pork. That "pork" funds all kinds projects and does more good than harm in the grand scheme of things.

This is republicans holding democrats to a standard they ignored. Reagan took America from the world's foremost creditor nation to the world's foremost debtor nation. Bush's watch resulted in the near collapse of the global economy.

President Obama received more votes than any elected president in history.

That's a mandate. Deal with it.

And while you're dealing with it by calling the president a liar/communist/fascist/marxist and an illegal alien, remember that nobody is censoring your speech like they did with Pearl Jam and and all the "free speech zones," and nobody is threatening your lives.

And when Mark Kirk(R-IL) tells Chinese officials that President Obama's budget(a budget that cuts taxes for over 95% of tax-paying Americans)is "not to be believed", directly undermining American interests, he's practically a traitor.

And in case the wingnuts don't know. The president consults with MANY Capitalists and Philanthropists and independent thinkers in trying to clean up the Bush Republican pile of shit they so recklessly, perhaps methodically, left behind.

Conservative Republicans failed America over the past 30 years and did so without shame or apology using hypocrisy and false equivalency as tools of deciet and revisionist history.

Now, once again, there are facts, with back up and you provide none.. You throw things out and just run away with no way to debate, yet you charge that we here on the left are not open to debate.

I nor anyone here is saying that we have all the answers, nor do we believe that we are perfect as you seem to think we believe. We do not idealize our Presidents as you seem to have done with Reagan and even Bush to a certain extent. We know he has feet of clay, we don't agree with everything he has done, nor will we agree with everything he will always do.

We need at least a 2 party system in this country for it to survive. But it needs to be a healthy 2 party system and right now we don't really have a healthy second party. The republican party is sick.. it is infected with bigots and racists and idiots who are following the lead of idiots like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck who are getting pain millions of dollars to say outlandish and stupid things.

The more outlandish and the more stupid the better, it garners a wider audience. People watch and listen just to see what they will say next. You know it must be getting bad when even some of the other wing nuts are calling them to task.

When Alex Jones, wing nut of the nth degree tells Glenn Beck he is getting too far out there for him.. Beck is WAAAAY out there.. So come on people.. are you serious.. this is the guy you want to follow.

An excerpt of the letter to Beck from Jones:

During your Monday September 22 2008 TV broadcast, you expressed your vehement support for the bailout, stating, “The $700 billion dollars that you’re hearing about now is not only I believe necessary, it is also not nearly enough.” However, as soon as Bush left office and Obama picked up the baton and continued the same financial policy, you changed your tune and routinely attacked the bailout as an example of how socialism was taking over America.

The bailout was bad news for America under Bush just as it is under Obama, both were merely performing a transfer of wealth from America to offshore banks and giving the Federal Reserve total dictatorial control over the economy, but you only opposed it when Bush was out of office, proving that your opinions are not wedded to right or wrong, but to which puppet is in the White House.

A host of mainline conservative talking heads opposed the banker bailout, as did the majority of the American people, but you went on television and publicly supported it. This is irreconcilable with you being “a libertarian at heart” as you claim.

In addition, you aggressively attacked Ron Paul and his supporters during the election campaign when it looked like the Texan Congressman might have a real chance of winning the nomination. You implied that Ron Paul supporters were domestic terrorists and should be dealt with by the U.S. Army, but later tried to side with Ron Paul supporters when the infamous and discredited MIAC report echoed your own talking point that people who support Ron Paul were dangerous.

The smear came during a November 2007 show when you were still hosting on CNN. Yourself and ex-Marxist David Horowitz smeared Ron Paul supporters, libertarians and the anti-war left as terrorist sympathizers and inferred that the U.S. military should be used to silence them, parroting a talking point that traces back to a September 2006 White House directive. When asked about the issue, Ron Paul dismissed you as “pretty discourteous” and a “demagogue”.

You Glenn Beck have acted as a cheerleader for the wars of aggression launched since 9/11 and in addition called for Iran to be attacked, claiming that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is preparing a “second holocaust.” Once again, these political opinions stand completely contrary to libertarian principles, which follow the founding fathers’ view that an expansionist aggressive foreign policy is bad for America.

You have attacked Obama for unraveling the Bush war machine to give you left cover, when in fact Obama has done everything in his power to expand Bush’s wars, beefing the campaigns in Afghanistan and Pakistan while removing a token amount of troops from Iraq and replacing them with an even greater number of contractors.

By attacking Obama for being different to Bush, when in reality he offers not change whatsoever, you keep people locked in the left-right paradigm and ensure that instead of coming to the realization that the whole system is rigged, they will merely vote in another puppet for the new world order in 2012.

Glenn Beck – you are controlled opposition, you are there to co-opt and ensure the Tea Parties are under control and that they never focus on taking on the real power behind the American economy – the Federal Reserve.

Bearing in mind that you almost died not too long ago, wouldn’t you rather come to the end of your life, whether that be in one year or 30 years from now, knowing that you stood up for true liberty and freedom? Isn’t that more valuable than your $50 million dollars a year contract? When I was approached ten years ago and offered large sums of money every year to sell out and become what you are today – the new Rush Limbaugh – while accepting tight controls on what I could and could not discuss – I said no and I thank God every day that I made the right decision.

50 Million .. is that what they are paying this lying piece of garbage to cry on demand and convince you people of what he wants you to do .. hell for 50 million even I would .. no, no I wouldn't.. I still have principles.. and it is obvious this idiot has none.

But, did you read what this said.. he praised the bailouts.. before he was against them.. Folks you are being duped by the master here.. look at that again. I will put it in bold so you can see it very plainly. I want to repeat this part again.. Just so everyone can see this for sure..

Here is a clip put together by Jones of Beck's greatest hits...and his take on what Beck is saying.. I think he has him nailed.. and I believe you all had better open your eyes.

I really hate to quote Alex Jones, he is not my cup of tea, but he has a point and makes some very valid arguments here.

So, here is the challenge people, wingnuts, tea baggers, whatever you want to be called.. you want a debate.. lets debate.. just do it with facts and come armed with back up.. not with ad hominem attacks and no way to prove what you say.

UPDATE & an APOLOGY! Teh Stupid, Oh It Burns.. These are the People Who Marched On Washington Last Week

UPDATE.. and an APOLOGY to Broadway Carl.. Carlos.. I am so very sorry.. I was tired and that is no excuse. I was just neglectful and didn't give you the credit for finding this wonderful video. I just hope my friend can forgive me. He does beautiful work at his blog and I should be punished..
*********************************************************

Watch this video and you will see why we are having trouble getting anything done. Some of these people are very confused, very brainwashed and very dumb. Well, maybe stupid.

Most of them are loyal Glenn Beck viewers.. of course, they must not watch enough to suffer from whiplash yet, over his backtracking, but they watch enough to be able to quote his ignorant rants.

Just amazes me sometimes, how little people know about things, and how little they bother to check for them selves, they just take something a talking head on radio or the TeeVee Machine at face value and go with it.. Simply Amazing. No, I think it is LAZINESS...

Edits of Videos.. Don't Like it When FOX Does it, Don't Like it When the Left Does it

Last night and this morning, as I was browsing some news before I left to help my mom, I saw a little article I was not too happy about. It seems Glenn Beck has been at it with his edit button again..

This time he is taking the President's words where he has been talking about the Constitution and leaving out passages and changing the entire meaning of what he is saying.

Here is what then IL State Sen. Barack Obama had to say.. This was September 2001 in an interview with radio station WBEZ in Chicago.

HOST: Barack Obama, what are your thoughts on the Declaration and Constitution?

OBAMA: Well, you know, I think it's a remarkable document. I think --

HOST: Which one?

OBAMA: The original Constitution, as well as -- as well as the Civil War amendments, but I think it is an imperfect document, and I think it is a document that reflects some deep flaws in American culture -- the colonial culture nascent at that time.

African-Americans were not -- first of all, they weren't African-Americans. The Africans at the time were not considered as part of the polity that was of concern to the framers. I think that, as [program co-panelist] Richard [John] said, it was a nagging problem in the same way that, these days, we might think of environmental issues or some other problem that, where you have to balance, you know, cost-benefits, as opposed to seeing it as a moral problem involving persons of moral worth.

And, in that sense, I think we can say that the Constitution reflected a enormous blind spot in this culture that carries on until this day, and that the framers had that same blind spot. I don't think the two views are contradictory to say that it was a remarkable political document that paved the way for where we are now, and to say that it also reflected the fundamental flaw of this country that continues to this day.

Now, here is how Beck treated it on his program the other day.

OBAMA: The original Constitution [edit] I think it is an imperfect document, and I think it is a document that reflects some deep flaws in American culture -- the colonial culture nascent at that time. [edit] I think we can say that the Constitution reflected a enormous blind spot in this culture [edit] and that the framers had that same blind spot. [edit] It also reflected the fundamental flaw of this country that continues to this day.

Here is the video also so you can see I am not making this up.

Quite a difference there.. He cuts quite a bit out of what the then Senator said.. and changes the meaning completely.

As Media Matters says..

Does Beck really believe that such original elements of the Constitution should not be considered imperfections -- imperfections that were indeed the product of a cultural "blind spot" shared by the 18th century individuals who authored it?

Even if he doesn't, the intent of a segment such as this one is still clear. Beck isn't interested in seriously examining the Constitution, nor does he care to honestly reflect on race in America. Instead, he wants to portray Obama as a man who harbors a generalized and racially motivated resentment toward the Founding Fathers and the document they authored -- exactly the kind of person who would seek to exact race-based justice through reparations, which Beck has already declared to be at the heart of Obama's entire agenda.

This isn't the first time that conservatives have deliberately distorted this interview to make the exact same point. Rush Limbaugh did so last October, and the RNC did it again in May. It's the sort of willfully ignorant, historically inaccurate, deliberately deceptive, and racially provocative argument that has become common in the modern conservative movement. And it shows how untrustworthy individuals like Beck truly are.

Now, for the second part of this.. the left side of my argument..

I am so tired again of reading crap like this from some of the people on the left and the media.. President Obama has come out stronger for the Public Option in the last 3 weeks than he has before, yet this is what I found on Huffington Post.

President Obama has been desperate to ditch the public option for weeks.

-snip-

But every time they tried to jettison the public option through surrogates like Kathleen Sebelius or "senior White House officials" speaking anonymously to media outlets, the base went haywire and Obama's poll numbers started tanking.

This is written by none other than Jane Hamsher.. of course she has never been a fan of Pres. Obama. So it really doesn't surprise me that she is criticizing him but the dishonest way she is doing it is beyond belief. Look at this and you will see what I mean.

Because they used an edited video, which didn't include a part of the speech where he said "Public Option" but did include his trademark (so to speak) "Fired Up, Ready To Go", and this ad was put out by the DNC, she is using this as her basis for saying he is dropping the PO and has been for weeks.

That's just dishonest, and is really I would say a lie.

That's just as much a lie and just as dishonest as Glenn Beck is being with his edits of the Obama interview from 2001 in my opinion.

You can see the entire post by Jane, at Huffington Post.

Maybe I am off base.. you can let me know.. but it just didn't seem right to me for her to say this.. I could be running around with my head in the sand as I have been told. But to me it seems she is just being dishonest, just as the ones on the right are being by editing the videos and the speeches of Pres. Obama from his earlier years.

Last Week, The President Promised to Call Out the Lies

Well, here is the start.. of course no one in the media is going to pick up on it and no one will bother to see it and report on it from Fox Noise for sure. But at least we know it is there.

Crooks & Liars wrote it up and I am writing it up.. But if you bother to read the White House Blog you should have seen it yourself. Anita Dunn put up a post about the idiocy of Glenn Beck and Lou Dobbs over the Czars they are whining about.

Of course, they started it and then like good little soldiers members of the GOPers in Congress picked up on it like they are supposed to and started talking it up too. I am not sure which way this works.. if Fox Noise sends the talking points to the RNC or if the RNC sends the talking points to Fox Noise every day.. but it is one or the other.

Here is part of what Ms. Dunn wrote at the White House blog about the Czar situation:

Last week, when the President addressed the Joint Session of Congress in a speech on health reform, he referred to some of the untruths – okay, lies – that have been spread about the plan and sent a clear message to those who seek to undermine his agenda and his presidency with these tactics: "We will call you out." So consider this one of those calls.

Over the past several weeks, we've seen with increasing frequency and volume issues raised around the use of "czars" by this Administration. Although some Members have asked serious questions around the makeup of the White House staff, the bulk of the noise you hear began first with partisan commentators, suggesting that this is somehow a new and sinister development that threatens our democracy. This is, of course, ridiculous. Just to be clear, the job title "czar" doesn’t exist in the Obama Administration. Many of the officials cited by conservative commentators have been confirmed by the Senate. Many hold policy jobs that have existed in previous Administrations. And some hold jobs that involved coordinating the work of agencies on President Obama’s key policy priorities: health insurance reform, energy and green jobs, and building a new foundation for long-lasting economic growth

But of course, it’s really the hypocrisy here that is noteworthy. Just earlier today, Darrell Issa, a Republican from California and one of the leaders in calling for an investigation into the Obama Administration’s use of "czars", had to admit to Fox News that he had never raised any objections to the Bush Administration’s use of "czars". Many of these members who now decry the practice have called on Presidents in the past to appoint "czars" to coordinate activities within the government to address immediate challenges. What is clear is that all of this energy going into these attacks could be used to have a constructive conversation about bringing this country together to address our challenges moving forward – and it doesn’t take a "czar" to bring that about! Just some folks willing to act in good faith.

Way to go Ms. Dunn..and way to name names and call them out. I approve of this message and I approve of the tactics this is taking. But there is more. I did highlight some of the above passages I wanted to make sure you saw.

Yeah, isn't it funny.. they called for more czars under Bush, that was Lamar Alexander, (R,TN(hypocriteville) who did that, and now he is all against the czars that Pres. Obama has. Ms. Dunn goes on to cite more and more of the hypocrisy of the Republicans and the idiots of Fox Noise.

In fact, last year, 176 House Republicans, including Issa, voted for a bill that would create an "Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator" that would advise the President and serve in the White House. By the time the bill passed the Senate, it was co-sponsored by 20 additional senators, including Sen. Alexander.

Damn, don't you hate it when your words come back and bite you in the ass there Senator and Representative? Just really makes you look like a fool doesn't it?

Then there is this little gem from the DNC..

You can read the entire blog post at the link above.. it is really good and she lays out all kinds of other proof of their hypocrisy and lies. Including the fact at least 9 of the so called czars HAVE gone through Senate confirmation, even though Beck says they haven't.

The one thing I didn't notice was the number of czars George Bush had in his administration..According to Tweety tonight.. it was 46.. hmmm I believe unless you use that new math that is going around.. that's just a few more than the 30 that Pres. Obama has.

WingNuts United in Their Lies, Looking Foolish

After Saturday's WingNut Parade in Washington, DC, and the pictures of them all with their signs and costumes on display for all to see, they have now attacked everyone who called them out for their hypocrisy.

These people slept through the last 8 years of the squandered surplus that Pres. Clinton left for Pres. Bush 43, and never said a word, when he passed his Trillion, yes that is Trillion dollar tax cuts for the wealthiest in our country, then again when he passed the Medicare part D supplement which also added to the deficit and left us in debt to the tune of 1.3 Trillion, again that is TRILLION dollars..

Then we have the wars, of course, not very many and I do mean almost no one disagreed with the war in Afghanistan. However, Iraq was a very different story. Pres. Bush ginned up the intelligence, lied to the American people and to his own staff and administration and pushed Congress into a war with Iraq.

There were protests all over this country and the world against this, yet no one, the media, everyone ignored it. We were considered unpatriotic, treasonous and disloyal for speaking out against the President.

It was estimated there were 6 and 10 Million people in 60 countries around the world. From Wikipedia:

Some of the largest protests took place in Europe. The protest in Rome involved around 3 million people, and is listed in the 2004 Guinness Book of World Records as the largest anti-war rally in history. Opposition to the war was highest in the Middle East, although protests there were relatively small.Mainland China was the only major region not to see any protests, but small demonstrations attended mainly by foreign students were seen later.

Yet, now, since November 4, 2008 and most especially Jan. 20th, 2009 it has become almost popular to speak out against the President. The more hideous the better. Signs, posters, blogs dedicated to putting him down, preachers calling for his death, radio and talk show hosts calling him Hitler, a socialists, a Marxist, a Communist and every other thing or name under the sun. Some even saying he is the Devil, the Anti-Christ, the personification of evil.

All during the 8 years of the Bush Administration it was considered unpatriotic to speak out against the president, after 9-11-01, and especially after we went to war in Afghanistan. Almost all of the talking heads on Fox Noise, because I refuse to call it news.. said so..

Even the Dixie Chicks were basically run out of the country because they dared to criticize the President.

Music superstars the Dixie Chicks are finding out that criticizing President Bush's plans for war in Iraq can cost you air play, big time.

Country stations across the United States have pulled the Chicks from playlists following reports that lead singer Natalie Maines said in a concert in London earlier this week that she was "ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas."

Station managers said their decisions were prompted by calls from irate listeners who thought criticism of the president was unpatriotic.

The group, which got its start in Texas, was one of the darlings of this year's Grammy Awards. The three-woman band that blends blue grass and pop hooks has spawned legions of fans who embrace the ideals of strong women celebrated in some of the trio's songs.

One station in Kansas City, Missouri held a Dixie "chicken toss" party Friday morning, where Chick critics were encouraged to dump the group's tapes, CDs and concert tickets into trash cans.

Houston country station KILT pulled the band's records from its playlist -- at least temporarily -- after 77 percent of people polled on its Web site said they supported the move.

"We've got them off the air for right now," said Jeff Garrison, program director at KILT, which is owned by Viacom's Infinity Broadcasting Corp.

"People are shocked. They cannot believe Texas' own have attacked the state and the president," Garrison said.

Lead singer Maines said in a statement she felt the president was ignoring the opinions of many in the United States and alienating the rest of the world by pushing for war with Iraq.

That's just a portion of the article from CNN.. but you get the picture. If you want to read the rest, click the link above.

As you see, you weren't allowed to criticize the President during the Bush Administration. Oh, there were random people who did, and they were promptly trashed, run out of the country, see above, or literally swept up and put in jail, to be never heard from again.

Yet, we never heard a word from these so called Tea Partiers then. They were perfectly fine with everything that went on. During the 8 years that George Bush was President, lets look at some things that might have gotten someone's attention and lead to a protest.

First lets start with ignoring the intelligence memo of Aug. 2001 which warned him of the impending attack on the United States by Bin Laden.

Then there is the Iraq War, which we have already discussed. Again, never budgeted, never paid for.

Then we have the Tax Cuts, for the wealthy, which put us into massive debt, especially when combined with the Medicare overhaul which gave us Part D, he didn't bother to pay for.

Then, we have the crimes of Torture and imprisonment of innocents from all over the world, even our own citizens. Wiretapping of our own citizens and military members speaking to their spouses.

I could go on but I think that is enough.

Now, we have elected Barack Obama, and he walked in the door with a HUGE deficit, 1.3 Trillion Dollars. An economy on the verge of and in collapse. Upon advise of economists he urged Congress to act and they did.. with very little support from republicans.

He didn't do this because he wanted to, but because he had to.

Pres. Bush, is the one who bailed out the banks with no oversight, Pres. Bush is the one who bailed out the Auto companies with no oversight, not Pres. Obama.

Pres. Obama then came in and cleaned up after this mess he was left, and tried to make it better. He is calling for oversight on the banks and on the stock markets, and he has forced the Auto companies into bankruptcy so they can restructure and stand on their own.

Since, these wingnuts think I lied about all the pictures and about the numbers I want to point out that Politifact rated the pictures as Pants On Fire wrong.. Matter of fact, the picture they are using to try to show it was 2 million at the wingnut rally, was from a rally in 2004.. maybe it was even a war protest.. that would be about how smart most of them are.

By the way.. Here are more pictures from the TeaParty WingNut Rally.. You can see them here. And then again more here.

Nowhere do I see a crowd near the size of what was in DC on January 20th, when the estimates were of 1.5 million people. Again, the DC Fire Department and the Park Police say the size was maybe 60 to 70,000, and that is a generous estimate.

These pictures are not random, these pictures are all through the crowds.. anyone who says they are not all over is a liar.. they are the ones who aren't being honest. Not me.

Something else for your viewing pleasure.. a video presentation..

Pictures From the Wingnuts March, 9-12-09 Failed UPDATE, Picture Added!

Yesterday Glenn Beck had his infamous 9-12-09 rally in Washington,DC. He has been talking about this for months now.

He cried, he boohooed and he whined, that he wanted to bring back the feelings we all had from 9-12-01.

Well, excuse me Mr. Crazy man Beck, but I don't remember feeling like the idiots were on parade on 9-12-01, like they were yesterday. I don't remember feeling like there were going to be killings and lynchings on the Capitol steps like I did yesterday.

I also don't remember feeling like someone opened up the door of the local asylum and let the people off their meds for the last 2 weeks and turned them loose on the streets of Washington, DC to take over.

But, that's what it was like in DC yesterday. The crazies were in charge and they had the signs to prove it.

Here are a couple of real winners here... one even on a child.. who didn't even have a clue I am sure who he was talking about.

And this one, which shows exactly where these people get their ideas and their brainwashing from. Please note the SPELLING...sorry I should have pointed that out earlier.. Thanks Sue for bringing it to my attention again.

For more pictures, go check out Sue's blog at Helloooo...Mr. President, are you listening? She has a great bunch of the Wingnuttery there. She's been watching it for a couple of days and writing about it.. She also has some of the perpetrators coming to her blog that are fun to debate with... lol

Bob Cesca has been posting quite a bit on the wingnuts and the pictures at his place and as always is on top of most of the asshattery. So you can check out Bob Cesca's Awesome Blog! Go! and find all kinds of wonderful stuff.

My newest friend in the blog world is TomCat.. MauiGirl pointed me at him and I have quickly come to love his blog and him.. He is wonderful and has been around for a while, but due to tragic circumstances had to be off the net for a while. Now he is back and better than ever. So go check him out at Politics Plus.

Then there are just all the others on the rolls.. you can check them out but those 3 are the most important. So check out Sue, Bob and Tom.. You won't regret the time you spend at any of them.

There have been some comments and some arguments by certain people about the size of the crowds, so here is a comparison shot of the crowd yesterday and the crowd at Pres. Obama's Inauguration. The picture on the right was taken we know on Jan. 20th and the crowd was estimated at about 1.5 million people. Today, the DC Fire department has estimated the size of the crowd at around 60,000. Nowhere near the 2 million Michelle Malkin tried to claim and what she said ABC News stated, however ABC has refuted that claim and said they NEVER said that in any way shape or form.

Take a look at this shot and tell me what the crowd looks like to you.

We Did It, But We Can't Let Up Now

Remember last week, on July 29, when we did the call to arms to boycott the sponsors of Glenn Beck?

Well, it is working...WAHOO!

Fox News' Glenn Beck is feeling the consequences of his controversial comments on the July 28 episode of "Fox and Friends," when he said that Barack Obama was a "racist" who had a "deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture."

According to TVNewser, Beck advertisers Proctor and Gamble, Lawyers.com and Progressive Insurance have all pulled their ads from Beck's 5PM ET show. This comes in the wake of groups like ColorOfChange.org's efforts to get companies to distance themselves from Beck.

Fox News told TVNewser that the advertisements were simply moved to other time slots on Fox News, and thus had no effect on the network's revenue (which, incidentally, was a bright spot in News Corp's otherwise dismal earnings).

Watch Beck's original comment's here.

Now, if you haven't seen his latest, you need to know he still hasn't learned his lesson and is still spewing his hatred. Today, he had someone sitting with him, pretending to be Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, and then pretended to poison them. Yes, he was saying he would like to kill the Speaker of the House.

I just believe that is over the top and I would think that would constitute a threat and should be against the law. Maybe I am wrong. Watch this here:

This man is just about as low as it gets. Some say this is all an act, I am not sure if it is or not..but if it is..he is damn good and needs to win an Oscar for sure.

Stephen Colbert Shows Glenn Beck's Real Side

Stephen Colbert shows what Glenn Beck is really all about as he mocks his program and his 9-12 project.

Stephen launches his own 10-31 project to counter Beck's and uses Beck's words against him. Remember when Beck said this about the family's of the 9-11 victims and survivors: "This is horrible to say, and I wonder if I'm alone in this, you know it took me about a year to start hating the 9/11 victims' families? I don't hate all of them. I hate probably about 10 of them. But when I see a 9-11 victim family on television, or whatever, I'm just like, 'Oh, shut up!' I'm so sick of them because they're always complaining. And we did our best for them." That was on Sept. 9, 2005.

A year.. it took him a year to start hating the victims and their families.. I am sorry, how can you hate them? All they did was go to work that day, or show up to do their job as firefighters and police officers and he hates them after a year. What kind of sick bastard is he? I am sorry, but he really makes me ill. So, yes I love that Stephen Colbert is calling him out on this crap he is putting out and I hate that the NY Times wrote a puff piece on him over the weekend and never once asked him about this.

Oh, and the day he made the stupid remark about the 9-11 victims, was the day they were giving the ATM cards to Hurricane Katrina victims and he was incensed over the fact they were getting anything to help them out. Yeah, real sensitive guy there Glenn, go cry again why don't you.

Freepers are Freaking Out

While I was perusing DailyKos yesterday I ran across a diary that was talking talking about a warning that one of the Freepers was putting out about threatening President Obama. Of course I had to read it.

Here is what it said"

Unfortunately, we are saddled with a communist sympathizer in the White House. I don't know whether or not he's an actual card carrying commie, but he's definitely an America-hating, anti-capitalist Marxist leftist who thinks communism is the way to go. Now I remember when America used to fight against communism. It wasn't that long ago. Many of us on FR are veterans of wars against communism and some of us believe that American citizens who are communists are the enemy within, ie, the domestic enemy we've sworn to defend against. American citizen? hmmmm... that may be a loophole for Obama.

At any rate, the oath is to defend our constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. I can imagine that this places an enormous strain on our Secret Service agents. It's obvious to anyone with a brain that Obama is an enemy of the constitution. So should the SS defend the constitution or defend the anti-constitution commie?

So now comes the problem. If you feel it's your duty to call Obama a traitor and use salty language in your proposed resolution, ie, suggest the commie be keelhauled, walked off the plank, run up the yardarm, tarred and feathered and run out of Dodge, etc, etc, etc, you may be facing a visit from your friendly Secret Service. And even though your visiting agent may agree politically, and may take his oath to the constitution seriously, he's still sworn to protect the officeholder and it's his duty to take all threats seriously. And that may include serving me with a subpoena to turn over your IP address. Now I'm duty bound to protect your privacy to the best of my ability, but I cannot defend against stupidity.

Best advice I can give is to keep it to yourself. Don't post anything that may embarrass you later, or end you up in the slammer.

Ever vigilant.

Keep your powder dry.

Now the diarist pointed out the portion that was bold was his emphasis, so I have made it the same here. Just to show you that evidently he has had a problem with this. Really?? Already, he has had a visit from the SS over a threat to the President?? That's not saying much for his commenter's would you say, or him for that matter. And sounds like he is trying to distance himself from them. LOL

He then goes on to point out some of the comments that were found. This first one was a real brave one... I used to love this stuff when I was driving. Some unknown voice on the CB Radio would come out and threaten another and be very brave and big talking.. Usually to the effect of, pull that truck over and I will whip your ass, just park it right there and I will be right there... of course you had no idea where the other person was, if they were even in the same county you were or even going in the same direction. But like I said, it is easy to be brave when you are anonymous.

If Obama is a man, he will meet me in person. He’s a gutless coward that is using the SS to hide behind. Obama is a lowly immature fool that couldn’t run a hot dog stand.

Obama, come here and meet me you coward. You don’t want to hear what I think of you? You’re going to let Emmanuel and Geithner and these other minions you appointed do your bidding?

If we ALL say what we want, he will be overwhelmed. He can’t possibly cover every one of us.

Those are my emphasis.. see what I mean.. if we ALL SAY...what??? say... he will be overwhelmed.. So the President has to come by himself.. but this brave warrior is going to bring all the other loud talkers to do what.. lie to him.. tell him stories till he gives up?? He will be overwhelmed.. Sure...lol "He can't possibly cover every one of us" With what?? a Wet noodle or something....lol That's about all it would take, these brave behind a screen name shouters.

Then there are the two who really must have gotten to the owner of the site.. who is called Jim Robinson, founder of Free Republic, because he had to completely delete them. So, he must have been scared of them...Or they were so incendiary in nature they set the page on fire...lol Then we get just a little more detached from reality than we already are.

We will never go back to Mayberry America because the Left has made it their mission to wipe it off the map and out of the fabric of our society long ago. There are consequences for those actions by the Left. One consequence is that far fewer conservatives are willing to "take the bullet" for these treasonous bas-tards who call themselves "Americans" anymore.

I don't know many people who ever really lived in "Mayberry America" in the first place. And the only people I know of that are willing to "take the bullet" for anyone is the men and women who serve everyday in our military and the police forces and the Secret Service. It certainly isn't these idiots who sit on the computer and call out the President.

But the final comment he posted was the one that really sealed the deal for me.. I actually had to laugh out loud on this one even more than before. I know my poor puppy thought Mom had really gone round the bend when he saw me wiping my eyes and laughing so hard after reading this comment.

Funny how Obama’s top "Secret Police Advisor" and much lauded Democrat hero, William Ayers, declared war on America, bombed and planned attacks and murder on our military and planned on murdering 50 million Americans who rejected Marxism - and his reward is professorship, tenure and adulation and hero status by the Democrat party.

Yet Obama has declared that no American may dissent with him or his policies?

So how divorced from reality are these people?? What planet are they on?? I admit I felt my heart skip a beat Friday when I heard a news report of shots fired at the UofI in Chicago. The first thing I thought of was William Ayers. Wondering if someone had decided to try to kill him. There were numerous threats against him after Palin started her campaign to paint him as a major figure in Pres. Obama's life last year.

But, I didn't hear anything more, so I am guessing things are ok and there was no one injured or it was a false report.

There have been threats to the President, just last week there was a report of two DC police officers who were suspended for the possibility of associating with people who might have wanted to harm him on Inauguration Day.

When I was doing some research for this and another story I stumbled on something that I had not seen before, which was a man that was arrested from Louisiana, who was trying to deliver a "gift" he said to President Obama. The gift he was wanting to deliver??? It looks like it might have been a bullet from the rifle he had with him. Yes, he stopped to ask for directions at the Capitol complex, and was acting so bizarre he was questioned a little further and it was determined he needed to be detained.

We have entered into the realm of bizarro world for sure. We have radio hosts wishing for failure. We have TeeVee hosts calling him Communist, Socialist, Marxist saying he is killing the Stock Market, robbing our children and grandchildren. Do they not realize how irresponsible this is??

People are already hurting and depressed, when they are they do crazy things. Then you get people who have a national audience shouting out incendiary words that fire up anger, fear, and make people lose rational thought process. They don't think before they act.

Here is another Diary at DailyKos that is well worth reading along these same lines. It too talks about threats to President Obama.

What will it take for these irresponsible people to think before they scream again.

Stephen Colbert Takes on Glenn Beck

Stephen Colbert looks at Glenn Beck, his "War Room" and his "Doom Bunker". He even brings on one of the guests that Beck had on his show.

It is great. Watch these two clips and see how he lays out Becks craziness for everyone to see.

White supremacism lies at the root of the 'respectable' nativist right

aFrom Crooks & Liars
We've known for some time -- ever since the Southern Poverty Law Center first reported it back in 2002 -- that there was a web of interests and backgrounds that connected some of the most prominent conservative anti-immigration "think tanks" to white-supremacist organizations, all revolving the activities of an environmentalist-turned-nativist named John Tanton.

To find out more check out America's Voice

John Tanton's Network

The organized anti-immigration "movement" is almost entirely the handiwork of one man, Michigan activist John H. Tanton.
Here is a list of 13 groups in the loose-knit Tanton network, followed by acronyms if the groups use them, founding dates, and Tanton's role in the groups.

Those organizations designated as hate groups by the Southern Poverty Law Center are marked with an asterisk (*).

In this list, "founded" means a group was founded or co-founded by John Tanton. "Funded" means that U.S. Inc., the funding conduit created and still headed by Tanton, has made grants to the group.

This folks is scary stuff... and guess who else is part of this network of individuals, according to the article on C&L...
It's played a huge role in providing fuel for right-wing talkers like Bill O'Reilly, Lou Dobbs, Michelle Malkin, Glenn Beck, and their hosts of imitators.

Yep, just like we always figured...
