VP Biden Tells the Former VP the Truth and Calls him out

On Meet The Press Sunday morning.. VP Joe Biden was on and David Gregory was carrying water for the previous administration as usual. The VP said numerous times that Dickless was misrepresenting the facts of what was happening with the war against al Qaeda and that he must be trying to rewrite history.

Then he stated Dickless was just factually WRONG. In other words.. he was lying. I loved it.. Here it is if you missed it.

Frank Schaeffer Calls out the Right and the Left

I think it is time we all, and I do mean ALL of us paid a little attention to what he is saying. After the breach at the White House the other night.. it is getting very serious out there.

People are calling for outright WAR against this President... and we have people on the Left side of politics criticizing him almost as much as ones on the right, if not more. Because they don't think he is moving fast enough, or he isn't doing what they want as they think he should.

There is a billboard up not far from my house calling for an armed revolution against the "Government". It has the quote on it... "Live Free or Die". If I can get a picture I will... but it is hard when it is on Interstate 70 in a pretty high traffic area.

This segment of Rachel is a few days old... but Frank makes some very valid points and if you haven't seen it... you need to watch it.. if you have.. maybe you need to watch it again.. and really LISTEN to what he says.

I may not agree with everything the President says or does.. but to rail against him publicly is to align yourself with the RWNJ's. Is that what you want? Because that's what I think when I read your postings and stuff... Just think about it with an open mind and see what you think. No I am not saying you have to be all love and roses all the time... but temper your thoughts a little. Don't be so negative and critical.

Nobel Prize Winner, Barack Obama

I have seen and heard so many people saying President Obama should not have won the Nobel Peace Prize. For various reasons, it seems but for the most part it is either because it seems no one thinks he has done enough, or he has carried on too many of the war policies.

However, Rachel Maddow takes on all critics last night in her opening segment and blows them away. Rachel is not known for her war mongering and is quite the peacenik herself so for her to come out in favor of this and to strongly support the President getting the Prize says a lot in my book.

Watch if you haven't seen it.. and maybe you might learn a lot about the selection process.

No, I won't post it.. I won't give Gregory that much attention.. but I will post this after interview he did with her and her alone.. The reason I won't post the MTP is because Dick Armey, Tom Coburn and Tom Daschle were on with her and I just don't want to give the Rethugs any more face time.

They have had enough, it is time to stop giving them a voice and the time to spout their lies any longer.. because that is all they are doing.

But, this was good with Rachel.. even if she did have to talk to Gregory..lol

Rachel Maddow Investigates the Grass Roots Protests

Rachel Maddow has done an excellent job of digging into the depths of the so called "grass roots" protests around the Town Halls for Health Care Reform. I think it is important to remember that Rep. John Boehner, (R, OH) said it would be a "hot August" for the Democrats, and by that I think he was saying it as a threat.

This is just one of the segments of Rachel's show she has done on this, there are many more. She has really done a great job of exposing the behind the scenes companies, businesses and money involved in fighting Health Care Reform. You can check out Rachel's show and see other video's and links to wonderful things by going here.

I think it is so important to remember that for people like her who has insurance, and probably very good insurance, this is not something she is worried too much about. However, she and others are concerned about the fairness of the debate. She is a political junkie. That's why she gets into this stuff...lol

Look at this video, see what she has found and think about this, then check with your representative or your senator and see if they have a meeting scheduled in your area. If they do, plan to attend and be prepared to face the worst. But, also, plan to show your support for Health Care Reform. Help Pres. Obama and the Democrats get this done. It will happen this year. That is one thing I am sure of.

My Letter to MSNBC

I have been a loyal viewer of MSNBC since it's launch and rarely is my television turned off your station except on weekends when you have your dock blocks on. I start my day with you and end my days with you and even sleep with your station on.

However, I have been seeing something lately that is beginning to really bother me. Pat Buchanan has always been some what behind the times, and I have felt he was still in the 50's and 60's many times. There has most of the time been a sublety to his comments and it was ignored for the most part by others, but he has gotten worse.

There have been the articles he has written for Human Events, and there are the blog posts he writes that are nothing less than racist rants. He has attacked the President repeatedly, for his race, his religion and his policies. His policies are one thing. I can deal with that. But he needs to stay away from the racial attacks and the religion.

Now, since Sonia Sotomayor has been introduced as Supreme Court nominee Pat has gone off the deep end. There have been too many things that he has said and done for it to be excused. You have cancelled others who were on your network and said less than he has, yet you continue to give this man a platform.

Last night finally Rachel Maddow challenged him for some of the things he said in an article he wrote for Human Events. The things he said were just out and out lies about Judge Sotomayor, and they were offensive and racist. It was not the first time, it was not the last time.

I was also amazed today to see that Carlos Watson brought Bay Buchanan onto his show and then was surprised when she started spouting out just lies and racist rants in much the same way that Pat has been doing. He finally had to just cut her off and call her out about it. At least he did do that. But this is exactly what I am talking about. Why is this allowed to go on? It must stop.

I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way. You must do what you feel is right in this manner, and I must do what I must do. I refuse to listen to this racist man any longer. I will no longer watch anything in which he is given a voice, no matter what it is.

Thank you for allowing me to give voice to my concerns to this matter. I hope you will take this into consideration and do something about it.

Rachel took on Pat Buchanan for his Racism about Sonia Sotomayor

Tonight was a first.. Rachel Maddow took on Pat Buchanan over his racist remarks about Sonia Sotomayor, Supreme Court nominee. Pat has been relentless over his comments about her since before she was nominated.

Finally someone has decided to challenge him for his racism and his hate speech. The reason Rachel had decided to take Pat on was his posting of this blog posting yesterday.

How to Handle Sonia is the post Pat wrote about it.. part of it says:

How, then, to handle Sotomayor?

As Republicans have never brutalized a Supreme Court nominee -- Ruth Bader Ginsburg got 96 votes and Stephen Breyer 87 -- they need no lectures on decency or decorum.

What they must do is expose Sotomayor, as they did not in the case of Ginsburg, as a political activist whose career bespeaks a lifelong resolve to discriminate against white males to the degree necessary to bring about an equality of rewards in society.

Sonia is, first and foremost, a Latina. She has not hesitated to demand, even in college and law school, ethnic and gender preferences for her own. Her concept of justice is race-based.

Testifying to Democrats' awareness that America does not want liberal justices for whom affirmative action is holy writ, Sotomayor is being promoted as a practitioner of judicial restraint who faithfully follows the Constitution and the law.

Yet here is a judge who ruled that New York state, by denying felons the vote, violated their civil rights.

Ensign's Story is Falling Apart

John Ensign thought he got away free. First Marky Mark came along and confessed his dying love to the girl from Argentina, then Michael Jackson died. Then Sarah Palin resigned. John Ensign thought he had it made.

The guy he cuckolded had written a letter to Fox News but they held it and didn't put it on the air and no one really picked up on it, since Sanford was such good press for a while.

Then with all the other news to take his name off the front page, and if he kept his head down, mouth shut and just stayed quiet maybe he could squeak by and no one would notice him and he would be okay.

Not so fast there big boy. Doug Hampton isn't quite done and he isn't ready to just ride away in the sunset quite so easily and quietly. He is now talking and he is talking to Jon Ralston on Face to Face.

You can also read more about this at Politico, where they are looking at the Tom Colburn end of it. This is getting really more and more complicated. It seems he was very involved to and knew about it for over a year and either condoned, helped cover it up, or tried to stop it, I am not really sure.

He supposedly told Ensign to write her a letter to break it off and then pay her off to stop it, get rid of her or something. In order to clear it out of everything. He really needed to make sure it didn't interfere with his career.

According to Rachel Maddow tonight the group of them live together in a house which is registered as a Church in Washington D.C. and that is where one of the meetings between Hampton and Colburn took place.

Sources familiar with the facts say that Hampton and Coburn confronted Ensign in February 2008 at a Christian fellowship home on Capitol Hill where Ensign, Coburn and several other lawmakers live.

Hampton told Ralston that Ensign subsequently gave well over $25,000 to his wife, former Ensign campaign treasurer Cindy Hampton, as severance pay for her political work. Both Hamptons were on Ensign’s payroll from Dec. 2006 until April 2008.

Hampton also supplied Ralston with a copy of what he said was a handwritten letter from Ensign to Cindy Hampton, dated February 2008, in which Ensign suggested that he wanted to end the affair.

“This is the most important letter I’ve ever written,” Ensign wrote. “What I did with you was wrong. I was completely self-centered + only thinking of myself. I used you for my own pleasure, not letting thoughts of you, Doug [or the couples’ children] come into my mind...I betrayed everything I believed in and lied to myself over + over. I justified my actions because I blamed my wife.”

Ensign refused to comment on the new revelations Wednesday, telling POLITICO: “See what we said before.”

Late Wednesday night, Ensign spokesman Tory Mazzola issued a statement in which he said: “In response to today’s television interview, Sen. Ensign said Doug Hampton was consistently inaccurate in his statements.”

As you can see this is just getting good...Rachel also said that now CREW is getting involved. So it may really get interesting now.

Jeff Sharlet is the guy who stated the house was listed as a church and had infiltrated the house for a while. It was something the info he had on it. I want to see what else he found out.

This could prove very interesting before it is over with. I think we just are going to have to watch and see.. then again it may all come to nothing.

But, you have to remember, his parents are Casino moguls. That's gambling money. Yes, it is legal in Nevada, but still.. for his parents to be paying them money, just looks funny... like untraceable.

I almost fell out of my chair when he said that laughing so hard. But to David's credit that was only one of many he had last night. And he also kept a straight face through the entire section.

Then Lawrence O'Donnell came on to help him and the two of them really had fun with it. Just watch.

It is horrifying. But it needs to be read. We need to see what was done and we need to know that not only Military personal did this but also MEDICAL PERSONAL were involved.

There's a New Sheriff In Town!!!!

I keep hearing and reading two things regarding Pres. Obama closing Guantanamo Prison Camp. Number 1, that we need somewhere off the mainland of the US that we can keep these really terrible people so we can use the "enhanced" interrogation techniques so we can get all the information we need from them and can stop any future attacks. To which I call, bull... we don't need torture to make these guys talk. Besides torture doesn't always work, and the information you get is not reliable.

Then you get the ones who say well what about the smoking gun type scenario. I say, watch this video. Because this guy can explain it much better than I ever can. I have posted on him before. This is his appearance from December on Keith Olbermann. But you can tell Matthew Alexander, (not his real name) knows his stuff. My other posts can be accessed by looking back in the list to the left. He has written a book about it and has written an Op-Ed in the Washington Post. So, watch this and see what you think. Then we will talk about the Number 2 reason.

Now, Number 2 reason mostly the right is giving for NOT closing Guantanamo is there is no where to put the people who are there, because you can't just let them go. If you just let them go they are just going to come back and fight and kill you all over again. Well again I say Bull...but lets look at it with an expert in these things. I sure am no expert...This also looks at the issue of torture again. This mans name is Professor Mark Denbeaux, of Seton Hall Law School Center for Policy and Research, and he is representing 2 of the prisoners at Guantanamo. But he has done his research about the prisoners.

To just simply say to release them would be to allow them to return to the "battlefield" and allow them to start killing all over again is to assume they were killing in the first place. So many of these people were innocent and should never have been picked up. Some of these people were children when they were grabbed off the streets, off the pastures tending sheep, out of their homes and some just disappeared from where ever they were found.

Their families have no idea if they are dead or alive.

Their story may be the strangest one you'll hear out of Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Even after being cleared of any wrongdoing, five innocent men were kept captive at the detention center at Guantanamo. Today, these men who started out in China and ended up in Cuba are now free and in the Eastern European country of Albania, the only country that would take them. They spoke to the ABC News Law & Justice Unit in their first American interview.


'In The Wrong Place at the Wrong Time'
Many of Guantanamo's prisoners proclaim they're innocent. What's different about these men, Muslims from China's Uighur minority, is that even American authorities said they were innocent, referring to them as "no longer enemy combatants" or "NLEC." Nevertheless, they remained imprisoned more than a year after their names were cleared -- after the U.S. government determined they did nothing wrong and posed no terrorist threat to America or Americans.

Why were they kept at Guantanamo so long after they were deemed innocent? Simply put, no country -- including the United States -- would accept them. They couldn't go back to China because they believed, as did the American government, that as Uighur Muslims they faced persecution by the Chinese government. With nowhere else to turn, they were taken in by Albania, a country with a Muslim majority.

Even as they struggle to find a place to call home, they are working to move past the ordeal of incarceration.

"We were isolated from the rest of the world," said Abu Bakkir Qassim, speaking through a translator.

Speaking for the group, he told ABC News: "We spent a pointless four-and-a-half years in Guantanamo."

In December 2005, a U.S. federal judge said of the men's detainment, "This indefinite imprisonment at Guantanamo Bay is unlawful."

Michael Sternell, a lawyer who represents three of the men on behalf of law firm Kramer, Levin, Naftalis and Frankel told ABC News, "These men have suffered more than anyone should ever have to in a lifetime in just the last four-and-a-half years. They were detained simply because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time."

This is just one story of many.

The prisoners come from more than 40 countries, and include more than 50 Pakistanis, about 150 Saudis and three teenagers under 16, a majority of them captured in Afghanistan,

That alone should be a crime. How can anyone hold a child in conditions like they describe in Guantanamo.

After everything we have heard so far from the wiretaps, torture, to the other things that just keep being exposed, now the Pentagon comes out and says they don't agree with this, well I say sorry, you have NO credibility with me. You are really part of the problem here. Your side lost, that is why you are being replaced with new people, so sit down, shut up and let the big boys take over.

Day 5 of the Israeli/Gaza Conflict with no resolution in sight.

Day 5 is here. Talks of a cease fire were around last night but nothing came of them. They were even having a press conference through Twitter. How funny is that. Speaking in 140 characters. That's harder than you might think if you haven't tried it.

I am sharing a video clip of Rachel Maddow and Richard Engel talking about the conflict. Rachel is one of the smartest people on the TeeVee machine. I also have a lot of respect for Richard. He is one of the few reporters that really does get his hands dirty in the business of reporting on wars and conflicts. He knows what he is talking about when it comes to Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Middle East.
