the President's Weekly Address: Republicans Blocking Progress

From the White House blog:

The President calls on Republicans in Congress to put scoring political points aside, and instead to focus on solving the problems facing the nation. At the time of this address, the Republican leadership is blocking progress on a bill to boost the economy, retain jobs for teachers and cops, and help people buy their first home; another bill which would hold oil companies accountable for any disasters they cause by removing the current $75 million liability cap; and 136 highly qualified men and women who have been nominated to government positions.

Yes, the GOPers are blocking things.. there is nothing new about this. But I think the President should have mentioned the Democrats who are blocking these same things. They just can't seem to get the message we want them to act like Democrats not DINO's and block things we need and the President has asked for to get things moving.

I know we are proud of the fact we don't march in lock-step like the GOPers do... however once in a while it might be a good thing if we did.

Amen to that, Sistah! If we could walk the party line more often, we might get something done! SO glad POTUS made the responsibility for the lack of progress clear to the American people, but I am with you - the conservadems need to be hung out to dry, too! Or change parties. Entirely up to them...

Great post - tell 'em, Girl! :)

Thanks MP... I just get tired of these Dem(wit)s not catching hell too... My own senator is one of them... she sometimes supports everything but then she pulls some good ones too.. Like this week voting AGAINST the unemployment benefits... That's just stupid and then claim it is because she is worried about the deficit... Don't they realize if we put people back to work and help them make it until they can... it will help the deficit...

Besides.. where were all these so called deficit hawks while Shrub and the Congress were spending like drunken sailors for NOTHING.

I'm so tired of this deficit worry talk too! The country has to function, the people have to be working in order to bring government revenue. What happened with the jobs bill? Is it sitting in the Senate with the over 200 other bills needing their yes votes? What is wrong with us? It seems like we are at a stand still til the November elections because the GOP thinks they will take back the House, or their wet dream of Senate majority.

God help us all, that's all I can say....

The jobs bill was defeated by GOPers and DINOs who are afraid of the deficit. That's why I said it is too bad he didn't call out the Dem(wit)s who are just as bad as the GOPers.
