Surprise.. I am in Baghdad, says Pres. Obama

Yes, Pres. Obama makes a surprise landing in Baghdad, Iraq today to visit with the troops, Gen Odierno, and Al-Maliki. In his address to the troops Pres. Obama thanked them for their good work and assured them of his concern and let them know they weren't forgotten. He reminded them of his and Michelle's continued support of them and their families.

One of the troops who was there was Beau Biden, VP Joe Biden's son.

In other news from Iraq today, there was an update from the courts. The Iraqi Supreme Court reduced the prison sentence Tuesday for the man, Muntadhar al-Zeidi, now sentenced to one year in jail rather than three. This is the man who gained fame in December, last year for throwing his shoes at former Pres. Bush.
