GOP Talking Points, from The Plum Line, Greg Sargents Blog

New GOP Talking Points: Obama Administration Is “Most Politically Obsessed White House In History”

A Republican sends over a new set of GOP talking points for House conservatives — privately circulated this week to scores of GOP press secretaries on the Hill — that blasts the Obama administration as “radical” and “reckless” and the “most politically obsessed White House in history.”

The talking points also make the claim that “the only approach that has not been tried is the conservative approach.”

The talking points represent the first major move this cycle by House conservatives to create united conservative messaging front, according to Roll Call (sub. only). They were sent out by the Republican Study Committee, a group of more than 100 conservative House Repubs headed by GOP Rep Tom Price — a sign that House conservatives are hoping to capitalize on the crisis to mount a comeback for what they’re labeling the “conservative approach” to the economy.

Among the GOP talking points’ highlights on Obama and Dems:

* “The budget is a radical proposal that will change the character of our nation, trampling on freedom and liberty.”

* “The only approach that has not been tried is the conservative approach – limited bureaucracy, lower taxes, and responsible regulatory structures.”

* “The administration is disingenuous, unfocused, and reckless.”

These claims are perhaps thrown into question when you think back to the approach employed by the Obama administration’s predecessors, but at least now you’ll know where this is coming from if you hear it.

As we continue to see, the republicans are going to continue throwing everything they can at Pres. Obama and his administration. Today and this week has been no exception. I have seen several Democrats doing the same. This has always been our problem. We just don't stick together.

No, I am not saying we have to just blindly follow our president. But just because it seems there is a rough patch when we are only 50 some days in and we are going to abandon him and everyone he trusts to work for him, to me is just wrong.

This is not why I voted for him, this is not why I have followed him and supported him for the last few years. It was because I thought he offered us the best hope to help change things in Washington and give us the changes we need to make this a better country. I still do. But I can't answer for any of you. That's your decision.

Funny You Tubes.. About Republicans..speaking and the types

These are some of the funniest I have seen in a while. The first one is the Ten Types of Republicans... It breaks them down and describes each of them.. I would have to say it has them down to a pretty good description too. It is very funny.

See what you think...

Then this one teaches you to speak as a Republican...it is funny too... There are more after these play out.. you can check them.. that's how I found these. There are some very funny ones here..

Craig Crawford rates the GOP's 1st 50 Days

Craig Crawford gives his take on the GOP's first 50 days...Craig has a very unique way of putting things. With his southern charm and quick wit, he gives his take on how he thinks the Republicans need to make things happen in order to find their way out of the wilderness.

Not to worry.. he does it tongue in cheek.

Limbaugh, Stupid Republicans and the Rest of Us

ST. PAUL, MN - SEPTEMBER 03: GOPAC Chairman M...Image by Getty Images via Daylife

I have been thinking about how the majority of the republicans and conservatives have seemed to be bowing down to Limbaugh. It has gotten to the point of silly.

First you had Phil Gingrey, from Georgia who said how no one was really paying attention to Limbaugh and he was just blowing off steam when he said, "I want him to fail", talking about Pres. Obama. Limbaugh was.

Well, it wasn't a couple of days after that then Gingrey was on the phone with Limbaugh, saying how sorry he was, how he had messed up, and how he had really insulted poor Rush. Well, give me a break.

Then, it was Michael Steele. He ran a brutal campaign to become the head of the RNC, against several other candidates. They voted I think it was 6 times, before he finally won and became the head. Well, he went on the D L Hughley show on CNN. This is how it was described by Politico:

In a little-noticed interview Saturday night, Steele dismissed Limbaugh as an “entertainer” whose show is “incendiary” and “ugly.”

Steele’s criticism made him the highest-ranking Republican to pick a fight with the popular and polarizing conservative talk show host,

Then Rush fired back, a furious counter-assault by Limbaugh, on his show Monday afternoon in which he told the loquacious RNC chair to pipe down and recognize that he's not a "talking head media star."

Steele told POLITICO he moved to stop the feud Monday afternoon with a phone call to Limbaugh.

But the new RNC chairman’s extraordinary comments won’t sit well with the millions of conservative listeners Limbaugh draws each week, and Steele aides scrambled to limit the damage Monday morning by trying to change the subject.

So, Steele, (cream puff) went to Limbaugh and crawled on his knees and did the same as Gingrey.. said I am sorry Rush.. I was bad.. Again.. here we go.. big, bad Rush, rules the republicans and says this is the way it is.

Now, after these 2 instances all the other republicans are afraid to say anything against Rush. When they are asked, as they are over and over, NO ONE will say a word against Rush...lol It gets very funny.

Today, in my paper, I was reading the opinion pages and the letters to the editor. Now, most everyone knows I live in Missouri, and usually I get mostly GOP talking points in the letters.. well imagine my surprise when they were more against Rush than for him...lol

But the one that stood out the most was this one. It was so funny, it is the main premise for this post.

It is from a gentleman in Kansas City and he says:
Let me get this straight. The Republican Party, the party that has sold itself for years as the only one that can keep us safe from foreign interests, terrorists and economic meltdown, is now the party that doesn't have the guts to stand up to a radio personality?
That's just pathetic.

Open Letter to the Republican Traitors (From a Former Republican)

Open Letter to the Republican Traitors (From a Former Republican)

Another great letter from Frank Schaeffer, who supported Pres. Obama and I posted about before. After appearing on DL Hughley's show he decided he needed to address the Republicans directly so he wrote them a letter. I have to wonder if they can read it though, since it is written in plain English.

You Republicans are the arsonists who burned down our national home. You combined the failed ideologies of the Religious Right, so-called free market deregulation and the Neoconservative love of war to light a fire that has consumed America. Now you have the nerve to criticize the "architect" America just hired -- President Obama -- to rebuild from the ashes. You do nothing constructive, just try to hinder the one person willing and able to fix the mess you created.

See, plain English, pulls no punches...lol I love the part where he says, "You do nothing constructive, just try to hinder the one person willing and able to fix the mess you created". Isn't that the truth? Not only that but the media seems determined to assist in this lately.

President Obama has been in office barely 45 days and the Republican Party has the nerve to blame him for the economic and military cataclysm he inherited. I say economic and military cataclysm because without the needless war in Iraq you all backed we would not be in the economic mess we're in today. If that money had been spent here at home on renovating our infrastructure, taking us toward a green economy, putting our health-care system in order we'd be a very different situation.

Again, he really puts it out there and lets them have it.. looks like he knows of what he speaks, doesn't he? He says in the letter he removed himself from the rolls of the Republican Party in 2000, and re-registered as an Independent. All because of W. Boy, that can say a lot can't it...and that was before he even started destroying the country....lol

Just imagine where America would be today if the 14 to 20 million voters -- "the rube base" who slavishly follow the likes of Limbaugh -- had not voted as a block year after year thus empowering the Republican fiasco. We would have a regulated banking industry and would have avoided our current financial crisis; some 4000 of our killed military men and women would be alive; over to 35,000 wounded Americans would be whole; we would have been leaders in the environmental movement; we would be in the middle of a green technology boom fueling a huge expansion of our economy and stopping our dependence on foreign oil, and our health-care system would be reformed.

Wow.. what else needs to be said.. well just maybe one other little point that he might like to make here.

The worsening economic situation is your fault and your fault alone. The Republicans created this mess through 8 years of backing the worst president in our history and now, because you put partisan ideology ahead of the good of our country, you have blown your last chance to redeem yourselves. You deserve the banishment to the political wilderness that awaits all traitors.

The rest is just as good. If you didn't see his appearance on DL Hughley, it is on here or it is part of this link at HuffPost, which is linked to this. It is really a great watch. Even though Frank Schaeffer was raised as part of the religious right, he is still a wonderful spokesperson for Pres. Obama.

He has seen the error of the ways of the Republicans and is calling them out on it and is willing to speak openly and loudly to them and to everyone about it. As you can see he pulls no punches. It's about time someone tells the truth to these liars.
