President's Weekly Address: Veterans Day and Fort Hood

From the White House web site:

The President looks back at a week where we honored those who serve on Veterans Day, and mourned those we lost at Fort Hood. He discusses the review he has ordered into the Fort Hood incident, and pledges to stand by our servicemen and women, as well as our veterans, as his most profound responsibility.

Thanks for the weekly update, Annette. I'm really glad that The President addressed the politicizing of the event. The incident wasn't an hour old before the Rethugs started in on the motives, when so little was known at that time. Very glad the Prez stepped up and spoke to that point.

As a Navy kid, I am strongly moved by Veteran's Day, and I hope that folks had an opportunity to thank at least one veteran or current member of the armed forces for their service to our country. Meanwhile, to honor them, you and I and many others will keep speaking out on Veterans' issues. We need to better keep our promises to those who serve.

Thanks for the post, my Dear. I always look forward to catching the weekly address here!

Thanks you 2 for inspiring me.. I know I can count on you to always make me feel good about posting this and making sure to have someone make me feel good about our President and my feelings. I come from a military family too.. so Veterans Day is very important in my family.. What I put on there was from my heart and my own words.. I just wrote what I felt.. just as our pres does most of the time.. That's what people don't seem to get.. he still writes a lot of his own speeches and his own words are used.. yes he has good writers, but a lot of the words are his own.. that gets forgotten.. he is a writer himself.

Our POTUS's weekly addresses have been great and inspiring. I wish more people would listen to his WORDS, rather than to judge him for his race (their bigotry). Thanks for these postings.
