Your President has Thrown the Gauntlet

Our President has thrown a gauntlet and is ready to take on anyone who is ready to fight with him over this budget. I believe he picked up a little fire while he was with the Marines yesterday...lol I like it. See what you think, and I will see you after.

He has given us a budget that is honest and is showing us what we haven't seen before. He is cutting things from it we don't need, that don't work, and that are not cost effective.

I know there are lots of waste in the medicare payments and such, I used to work with them and was constantly having to try to send money back to them. It was the hardest thing in the world to tell them they had overpaid me. Just in one instance, they overpaid me $75,000. I worked for 3 months to get it fixed. They wouldn't accept the payments telling me I was wrong. They paid my company and they paid the correct company.

Finally, after multiple paperwork transfers to them, I got it across to them they had sent me the wrong payment and they threatened to sue our company...lol This after I had been the one to bring it to their attention!! Anyway, we finally got it fixed. But, as I say, that was one instance. It happens ALL the time with medicare payments.

So, there you have it, waste and abuse of the Federal Dollar. Just like the President said. Stop this kind of thing and you can and will save money.

The Budget can be found here at the Office of Management and Budget web site. Peter Orzag is the OMB Director, and is a pretty cool dude, if I may say that.

I think for the most part this is great, I must admit I haven't read it all, but what I have looked at and what I have seen I like. Yes, it is a lot of money. But, really if you add the cost of the wars, disasters and other things that the former occupant didn't have in his budget, is this that much more than his was?? Or is it pretty much in line??

Just asking...

It's not the size that counts. It's how you use it. Obama gives great budget.

We have to look at the full context of his proposals - Budget as well as the frivolous programs that could be cut at the same time. People, as a rule, take the "budget" at face value and refuse to look at the whole picture. I am sure there is no one, myself included, that is 100% happy with this budget - that will never happen. But in the long run - you have to spend money - to make money. I am keeping my positive outlook.

I haven't come close to reading it all, but I think I'm pretty happy with it. I do have a 40 year wish list, just like the Republicans claim and I think that wish list is full of essentials for maintaining a society worth living in.

I think our President is brilliant!

And yes, it's true, we have to spend money to make money--ask anyone who has ever tried their hand at running their own business, of any size!

I haven't been able to get through reading the entire thing yet, but I like what I am seeing so far!
